About Your Host
John Nixon, Sr. is a career pastor, teacher, and church administrator who holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in the church and in church schools, along with his two brothers and two sisters. His parents, now asleep in Jesus, instilled in them the importance of education and the importance of being Christians. The last words John remembers his mother saying to him just before she died were, “keep close to the Lord.” Those words stay with him.
Two months after graduating college, John married the love of his life, Januwoina (Ja-von-na) Fields, who has spent her professional career as a teacher and school administrator. They have been married for 44-years. The Lord has blessed them with three adult children and three grandchildren.

Januwoina has worked at both the elementary school and university levels. Her PhD in education is with an emphasis in Post-secondary and Adult Education. She currently serves as the assistant superintendent of schools for the South Central Conference.
Over the years, the Nixons have lived and ministered in several cities around the U.S., including urban ministry in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. They have served on three college campuses and travelled to various countries in their work, among them, Australia, Bermuda, England, Jamaica, Kenya, Korea, South Africa, and Zambia.
More and more Pastor Nixon feels led to take on the role of mentorship. That’s what Hear Me Now Ministries is about. This website is dedicated to the growth of Christian ministers, both professional and lay, in a time when Christian ministry and moral leadership are greatly needed. Please remember to bless us with your prayers.
